Welcome to the 1st of December and the start of our weekly Billfish Blog, keeping you updated right through our season.
Starting on a high note congratulations to Team Capricorn and on of the clubs favourite identities Smithy for second place overall at the MGFC Billfish Bash going 2-2-2 on Blue Marlin yesterday plus three little Mahi Mahi on 37kg. They were a a close 2nd to Liquid Assets from Redcliffe GFC, beaten by 4 light tackle Black Marlin by a field goal Mahi Mahi that scraped in by 50gms, it doesn’t get much closer than that, well done Liquid Assets!
And what a way for one of our newest members, Dale Penhall, catching his first and second Marlin in one day to win Champion Angler Overall, Champion Heavy Tackle Angler and Champion Heavy Tackle Team. I’m sure Dale will provide a glowing endorsement for Smithy’s charters. I understand there were 14 light tackle fish tagged and 2 heavy tackle over the tournament.
