Kids Tagged on Fishing Our Signature Junior Tournament
Proudly funded by the Queensland Government, Kids Tagged on Fishing is a free 3-day event designed to introduce young anglers to the thrill of tag and release game fishing. We welcome kids from all fishing clubs and from the wider community to take part.
This exciting event includes:
- Two fun and informative training nights, covering tagging, safety and tackle preparation

It’s not just a tournament – it’s an unforgettable experience that ignites a lifelong passion for game fishing.
The February Classic A World-Class Game Fishing Challenge
Based out of our clubhouse on the picturesque Mooloolaba Harbour, the February Classic launches competitors into the idyllic offshore waters of the Sunshine Coast renowned as one of Australia’s premier game fishing destinations.
This world-class event caters for skippers in both Under 7.5m and Over 7.5m boat divisions, making it accessible to trailer boats and large vessels alike. Designed to test the skill of skippers, crews and anglers, the Classic delivers exciting competition across both light and heavy tackle categories.
SCGFC proudly promotes billfish conservation, encouraging the tag and release of all billfish species. Whether you’re chasing podium glory or simply the rush of the strike, this is an event not to be missed.
We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at the Kawana Waters Hotel, where trips are planned, stories shared, and friendships forged.
If you’re ready to be part of a club that fishes hard, laughs hard and supports each other both on and off the water, SCGFC is waiting for you.
