For over 40 years, the Sunshine Coast Game Fishing Club has been at the heart of Australian
Game Fishing. Founded in 1981, our club is built on tradition, camaraderie, and a passion for
the ocean, growing into one of the nation’s most respected and successful Tag & Release
clubs.

Who We Are

Our members include Life Members, IGFA, GFAA, and QGFA representatives, renowned
scientists, conservation leaders, and anglers from across Australia and beyond. Together, we
share knowledge, protect our fisheries, and celebrate the thrill of the sport.

A Club for Everyone

Whether you’re a seasoned angler chasing records, a junior just starting out, or someone
who simply loves the excitement of being on the water, you’ll find a home here. New
members are welcomed with open arms, mentored by experienced skippers, and
encouraged to broaden their fishing horizons locally and internationally.

Our Signature Event

Each February, we proudly host the SCGFC Classic Tournament – a highlight of the Australian
Billfish season. This event showcases the prolific waters of the Sunshine Coast while
celebrating friendship, competition, and unforgettable days on the ocean.
